The Self We Learned to Be – A Six-Week Online Conversation

August 29 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm EDT

The Self We Learned to Be

An online conversation exploring the identities we’ve come to believe about ourselves, how those beliefs shape the way we participate in our lives, and what becomes possible when we stop asking our circumstances and familiar stories to tell us who we are.

We all carry ideas about who we are.

“I’m the responsible one.”

“I’m independent.”

“I’m not creative.”

“I’m just someone who…”

Some of those descriptions may be true. Some may have been true for a long time. And some have become so familiar that we rarely think to question them.

Over six weeks, we’ll look at what we’ve learned to call “me,” what happens when we live from those beliefs, and how easily the circumstances of our lives can become evidence for who we think we are. We’ll also explore what we notice and what we may overlook when we already believe we know ourselves.

This isn’t about deciding that everything you’ve believed about yourself is wrong. And we’re not replacing old labels with better ones.

We’re making room to notice where there may be more choice than we realized.

Each 2-hour session includes teaching, personal reflection, small-group and whole-group conversation, and a practice to carry into the week.

We’ll meet weekly from August 29 through October 3 at 8:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM ET for 2-hour sessions, online via Zoom.

This is a small group space and will run with a minimum of 4 participants.

The course is offered on a sliding scale:

$249 — standard
$199 — supported
$149 — limited spots available
